The short answer

Meesho seller registration is done on the Meesho Supplier site (supplier.meesho.com). You sign up with your phone number and email, then add an active bank account and either your GSTIN or, if you’re not GST-registered, a GST enrolment ID or UIN. Add your pickup address and product listings, and you can start selling. Meesho states it charges 0% commission across all product categories, and pays sellers on the 7th day from order delivery, including cash-on-delivery orders. It says it has 11 lakh+ sellers. One limit: running ads on Meesho needs a regular GSTIN.

Why sellers choose Meesho

  • 0% commission stated across categories
  • Open to non-GST sellers who have an enrolment ID
  • Large value-seeking audience, much of it outside the metros
  • Simple onboarding from a phone

It suits low- and mid-priced products: fashion, home, kitchen, accessories and similar. For brand-heavy or premium products, compare other online selling platforms.

Meesho seller registration: six steps

Six steps: sign up, verify phone, add GSTIN or enrollment ID, add bank account, add pickup address, list products
  1. Sign up at supplier.meesho.com with your mobile number and email
  2. Verify with the OTP
  3. Add tax details: your GSTIN, or your GST enrolment ID or UIN if you’re not GST-registered
  4. Add your bank account for payouts
  5. Add your pickup address and store name
  6. List products with images, prices, sizes and stock

After listing, keep an eye on the supplier panel for order, return and quality alerts.

Documents you need

Meesho’s own page lists:

  • An active bank account
  • GSTIN (for GST sellers), or an enrolment ID / UIN (for non-GST sellers)

Keep your PAN handy too: you need it to get a GST enrolment ID.

Selling on Meesho without GST

Meesho’s supplier homepage says you can sell without a GSTIN. This works through the GST enrolment route that CBIC created in 2023.

Two routes: sellers with GSTIN, and sellers with a GST enrollment ID selling only within their state

Under Notification 34/2023-Central Tax (in force from 1 October 2023), a supplier of goods below the GST registration threshold can sell through e-commerce operators without registering, if they:

  • Have a PAN and declare it on the GST portal with their business address
  • Get an enrolment number before making any sales
  • Sell only within their own state or union territory
  • Sell through e-commerce operators in only one state

In practice, this means your products may only be shown to buyers in your own state. If you want to sell across India or run Meesho ads, get a regular GSTIN. Check with a chartered accountant for your case.

Meesho commission and payments

  • Commission: Meesho states a 0% commission rate across all categories
  • Payment: deposited on the 7th day from order delivery, including COD orders

Zero commission doesn’t mean zero cost. Account for packaging, returns and any penalties for quality issues.

Price for returns, not just commission

Low-priced fashion sees returns. Build them into your price.

Price build-up for a ₹399 product: product cost, packaging, expected returns, margin

Illustrative for a ₹399 product:

  • Product cost: ₹180
  • Packaging: ₹15
  • Expected return loss (say 15% of orders at ₹150 lost each): about ₹23 per order
  • Left for margin and ads: about ₹181

Track your real return rate after a month and adjust. Our guide to RTO explains how to reduce refused deliveries, and bundles can lift AOV.

Mistakes to avoid

Wrong sizes or misleading photos. The fastest route to returns and low ratings.

Ignoring the in-state limit when selling with an enrolment ID.

Pricing too thin. One bad week of returns can wipe out profit.

Slow dispatch. Hurts ratings and visibility.

Checklist

  • GSTIN or GST enrolment ID ready
  • Bank account and pickup address ready
  • Product photos: clear, true colour, multiple angles
  • Size charts accurate
  • Price built with packaging and returns included
  • Dispatch within the promised time
